Where the freezing shows up first
Sub-Zero describes this pattern two ways: food freezing in the refrigerator section, or a compartment colder at the top than the bottom. Delicate things give it away early. Lettuce turns dark and translucent, and milk grows a slush layer before anything sturdier is touched. Whatever sits nearest the air coming off the evaporator usually suffers first.
Why we start with the panel
